EPISODE X
First Grass Pitch Boots
|
It is around this period that various Dogs decided to buy their first pair of grass boots. People living in Europe play football on grass pitch from Day 1. In contrast, people in Hong Kong might never have chance to play on grass pitch for their whole lives. For Winkins, he decided to pay a little bit more and upgrade from his no-one-know-but-very-cheap lotto stone ground boots to not-so-popular-but-not-so-expensive diadora grass pitch boots. |

Again, there is a little story behind. On 6 Oct 2002, the night before a match held on Joint U pitch. Hoi called Winkins saying that he can no longer accept the fact that his stone ground boots making him running slower than opponents. He then said he is actually looking at those grass pitch boots in Hing Fat and asked if Winkins would like to buy one pair as well. Though Winkins didn't have the running slow problem, he decided to buy one pair, only because he thought he can then perform what he should with the grass pitch boots. Hoi, then, bought two pairs of same size and brough it to Winkins the next day. From there on, they wear the same boots with different color of diadora logo at the boot side. What Hoi did not know is that the size is not fit to Winkins and they were very tight to him ... |

Still, it is black in color and with no design at all. "No design is the best design." This is what people think if they can't afford to buy thoese always-popular-and-always-good-design-but-always-expensive adidas / nike. Playing with grass pitch boots is like "really" playing football. The feeling of running and moving is completely differnt from those of wearing stone ground boots. The difference might be very little and minor but it indeed rising up the level of enjoyment and satisfaction. After this, they never look back. |
