EPISODE XII
More Matches
|
This is a period of peaceful matches and stable schedules. Dogs almost meet weekly at either one of the stone ground pitches in Sham Shui Po or the real grass Joint University pitch. They played with Wilson & Friends most of the time and they seldom play against other opponents. Sze Fat and Ar Yung contribute a lot for this happy period while they keep on booking the pitches and inviting DUFC to play with them. As far as the development of DUFC is concerned, we should really appreciate their hard effects. It is four to five years after Dogs left the Shatin shelter, most of them now have a job and earn a decent living. By and large, they work in offices and they don't need to work in weekends. Most of them got a girlfriend (a wife for few of them). Those stable relationships ensure that watching movie and hanging out are no longer a high priority. Unlike slaves, they are free to do what they want to do. They were young (at least they think they were). They don't want to get old. They don't want to be labeled as Fat Old Man. They thus have no choice but to do some sports. All the above reasons contribute a very high and consistent attendance record for a prolonged period. And here are some highlights of matches during that period:-
