EPISODE XVII
Family Dogs
|
Among the various new Dogs who joined the Team in 2005, there are four family members. And two of them are from the last generation:- Jason , cousin of Winkins. When they were around 10 years old, they used to play football together in the extremely small stone ground pitch in Kowloon Tong or the under-bridge playground in Mei Foo. They would practice long shooting from each end of the pitch for more than an hour. It ended only when Jason relocated to UK. It was more than 15 years later that they played football with each other again. By then, they are no longer the Captain Tsubasa and the Captain Hyuga. Jason officially joined the Team after a long term injury to his right knee and he then becomes one of the Committee members. Jason owns the record of having most football boots in the Team. An unofficial count including 2 puma firm ground, 1 adidas soft ground, 2 nike firm ground, 1 adidas turf ground, 1 puma turf ground … sorry, I lost count … The Manager is still yet to see the best out of Jason and hopefully the newly-joined Fitness Coach would bring the player before injury back. Let’s pray together … Favorite quota, “Go help him !!”
First and for most, he surprised the Fitness Coach. He simply fitter than many of the Dogs, including Jason his own son. He runs, he dribbles, he scores goals and he out-plays the youth. Michael plays basketball every morning, which keeps his fitness as sharp as Owen Hargreaves (in Bayern Munich). Besides playing as Forward, Michael is very good at Goalkeeping as well. Playing basketball may be one of the reasons. Good positioning is another. Indeed he scores a lot goals and plays very good between the bars in the training matches. Favorite quota, “Ha Ha Ha Ha …”
Without knowing the reason, he likes back-heel pass. He will not be happy if he can’t use at least one back-heel pass in a match. The problem is he always use back-heel pass unnecessarily or at the wrong time. This famous back-heel pass also created my one and the only time F my father in my life:- I passed the ball to him and asked him to do a one-two with me, if then I will be facing only the goalkeeper. What he did is turn around 90 degree and back-heel the ball to Iceland. I just couldn't control myself but F … To tell you one more interesting story. Late season, when I bought him a personalized England shirt with number 20 and LAM at the back from UK, he instructed me not to buy him anymore football shirt because he got too many already. The truth is I saw him wearing it every weekend. Early this season, I bought him the new Man United shirt. I got the same instruction from him (exactly the same wordings) and now I saw him wearing it every Sunday with the England shirt changed to every Saturday. This proved again that (a) never a son would listen to his father after 12 years old and (b) never a father would admit that he like his son buying him something. I remember once Jackie said to me, “You should treasure the chance of playing football with your father. Like mark six, it is once a life opportunity.” I know, my friend, only if he stop his back-heel pass … Favorite quota, “Ai Yr, sorry …”
To be honest, I believe it is adidas which brings Wilson into DUFC. To be more exact, it is mi adidas which brings him into the Team. With mi adidas, you can make your own designed boots and personalized with national flag, name and number. Wilson indeed very much like the looking of his mi adidas boots. The problem is it has to be played on AI grass which Wilson & Friends seldom plays on. In turn, he has to play with DUFC instead … Favorite quota, “I have match with my friend, can’t join yours!” ![]() |
