More Dogs (Part 4)

The squad was getting stronger with the recent joined-in of the following Dogs during this period:-

Danny, introduced by Jason. Danny officially joined the Club for the Season 2006/07. He used to play football with Jason in UK. With his UK background, it was a surprise to the Team that he does not play “kick and run”. In opposite, he plays simple passes and effective football.

What surprise the Team more is that Danny does not like to play upfront but defense. His best position, according to himself, is defensive midfield. After playing alongside him few times, I found him quite right on that. But the Manager always put him in center back due to the low attendance and ever changing starting line-ups.

Danny brought in his brother Matthew from time to time and the agent of the Club are now working on getting this future star.

Edmund, brother of Sing. Edmund officially joined the Club for the Season 2006/07. Like his brother, Edmund is an offensive player. He plays petty well to link up the forward and the midfield. He also plays well as winger. Unlike his brother, Edmund play the goalkeeper quite often. And he doesn’t know what Crazy-Tiger-shoot is.

It took only one year before the Manager brought Edmund from the reserve team to the first team. He indeed fulfills his potential and the future of the Team is very much depends on the development of Edmund.

Jacky Ng (aka Robben), introduced by Jackie. Jacky has a very long history with the Team. He played with us few times even before the Season 2005/06. The reasons why we called him Robben are (1) he used to wearing Chelsea shirt when he played with us and (2) he plays like the real Robben. Jacky is fast, skillful and he scores goals.

The Team finds him extremely valuable in competitive matches. Jacky to DUFC is like Michael Owen (the one who fit) to England. He added an option of counter-attack to the Team. The Chairman believes that he is one step from being a world class player – pass more. Nevertheless, he brings in hire guns and new players to save many matches from cancel.

It was not until the Season 2007/08 that he finally joined the Team. Interesting …

Jimmy, introduced by Martin. At the beginning of the Season 2005/06, Paul and Jimmy were introduced by Martin at the same time. They started to play with the Team but it was Paul who decided to officially join the Team.

Like Paul, Jimmy plays “kick and run”. Like Paul, he provides the Team a lot of running and long crossing. And like Paul, he seldom plays competitive matches of the Team. In fact, I always treat Paul and Jimmy as twins since they come together, they play in same style and they get similar personality. To me, they are the DUFC 立花兄弟.

Having said that, the Team indeed enjoys very much in playing with them.

Tai Fai, introduced by Carmen. He is a secondary school friend of Carmen who never playing football before joining the Team. Like 99% of people who play football, he loves to play as Forward. As a Forward, he has good body figure and strength. What he needed to become the Club’s first choose striker are to keep his fitness and to increase his attendance.

He took the number 12 of the 2007 new shirt from the Captain (supposed to be a number of Forward) as Winkins convinced the Captain that number 20 is a number for “the Best Forward", like 葵新伍 and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer …
