EPISODE VII
Second Team Jersey
After four long years, it is time for the Team to have a new look. You may wonder why it took so long for them to have the second team jersey. I tell you what: if it is not Jackie who suddenly remember 5 November is Winkins' birthday, it might take ten more years. Or ... never! On 7 November, 1998, according to my memory, without any advance notice or consultation from other Dogs, Jackie distributed the new jersey to the Team before a match. All decision was made by Jackie himself which included color, design, size, number style and who get what number. It was like a Christmas present that you don't know anything until Boxing Day. (Remarks: Jackie does not agree with that, he insist that he did communicate with other Dogs and consult them before he did the purchase. I cannot remember receiving any call from him. Dogs, don't you?) Jackie spent quite some time in the PRC in his early career. And he spent most of his time hanging around looking for potentail clients and girl friend. All in a sudden, he found a fake football shirt manufacturer and found its price extremely attractive. Next second, he decided to buy a new team jersey. The jersey is Blue/Orange in color, coming with a white short. In fact, it is a Nike design with a Holland badge. To be fair, it looks OK. Though playing in White is a tradition of DUFC, no Dog makes any complaints regarding the color or design. The only reason was that the price is extremely low. The shame is that there wasn't any photo in our archive showing DUFC on this jersey. So, we do the alternative as following:-

As you might see, the number was "sew" on the shirt and short. It was one of many examples showing the adaptability and creativity of Hong Kong people. Back then, "painted-number" was not as durable as of now. It would fall-off easily (see below). As a result, people tried using "sew-number" which would last as long as the shirt could. If you ask me, I love sew-number. It last.

For this jersey, there is no name at the back. To be honest, would you expect a dessert would be served together with a HK$20 set lunch? Don't be silly. Yes, Winkins got the number 8 (Jackie remind me that it was supposed to be number 2 or 3 if it is not my birthday). Then, you might want to know who got this jersey and what number was assigned (by Jackie) to him. Indeed the History was missing in this area. After months of checking, only six records were confirmed:- |

| Number | Dog | |
| 7 | Curtis | |
| 8 | Winkins | |
| 9 | Alex Lee | |
| 10 | Alex Ko | |
| 11 | Jackie | |
| 12 | Ryan | |
I am very sure that Hoi and LCK got this jersey. But I am not sure about their numbers assigned. Also, I guess it is likely that Sam, Duck and Lo got this jersey as well. But I don't have any evidence. Dogs, please help us to update the archive if you have any information. It would be great if you can show us a photo of your jersey. Looking back, it was not a very successful jersey. We did not win big match with this jersey and we did not wear it often enough. It was because Dogs just love to play in White and they did not have many matches during that period. Don't get me wrong, it still plays a very important role for the Team, i.e. it is the second team jersey, and nothing can change that. |
